Roel Garcia

A graduate of The University of Texas School of Law, Roel Garcia joined Bush Rudnicki Shelton in 2019 after 8 years of defending subcontractors in commercial multi-party construction litigation and small and mid-size businesses in large personal injury matters. He has handled litigation in a variety of areas which include:

 

contract disputes, personal injury, premises liability, homeowners association disputes, Texas Water Code, Residential Construction Liability Act, Deceptive Trade Practices Act, landlord/tenant disputes and fraud on the community (divorce).

Roel has successfully prosecuted and defended cases on behalf of individual clients through jury verdict at trial. Currently, his practice is primarily focused on defending Texas home-builders in district court and arbitration. 

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

1st chair  - 3 trials

  • Defended a small business owner against negligent hiring and negligent training claims.

  • Defended a trucking company against personal injury claims.

  • Prosecuted personal injury claim against quasi-governmental bus company (settled before impaneling the jury).

 

2nd chair – 2 trials

  • Defended a homeowner against negligence and premises liability claims brought by a seasonal independent contractor.

  • Prosecuted  DTPA claims against local used car dealership.
